‘Florae’ is representative of a very specific period of the artist’s life. Truly inspired by nature and the peacefulness felt whilst being surrounded by greenery, the artist only created whilst outdoors, frequenting botanical gardens, orchards, fields and even backyards. At this time, the artist did not have a specific place serving as a studio, instead she made every environment into one. Stimulus for each piece derived from the vast variety of flora and the art at the time seemed to serve as a diary of her outings.
