These few pieces are based on longing for a specific place and experience. It is about missing what once was and that which was within your reach. With the world growing into a more travel intense place, as crossing borders becomes easier and further accessible, with the growth in numbers of third culture kids, with the terms ‘origin’ and ‘home’ becoming more and more blurry, missing a place has become a common thought. Once we relocate, nostalgia for what we loved most about a specific place tends to kick in. In these pieces the artist discusses what she missed most from the unforgettable sunset, the many interactions with the animals, waterfalls and all-round splendour of mother nature of Zimbabwe.
