“This is where I reside” is a series of photographs meant to display a resonating assortment of buildings and homes from across the globe. The photographs are painted on to accentuate particular parts of the scene and bring a playfulness to the work. Moreover, these views have been seen and photographed many a time, the artist therefore wanted to bring a personal touch to each piece by painting on top of the print and therefore making that potentially already familiar and known scene unique. The major theme discussed in this series, is that all humans are entitled to a home and shelter. Homes are where we share a meal, where we love, where we fight with those same loved ones in private, where we sleep soundly assured in the security of our walls, doors and locks, where we enjoy a long bath and where we are able to shut the sometimes, unpleasant world outside. Everyone should be able to say that they have a home to go to. It is not a privilege. It is a right. All of the proceeds from this series are going toward the purchase of homes for refugee families.
